Semantics puts the people in trances while dancing around the truth
The acts of broadcasters, forecasters, and bad actors tarnish the surface
All hype and no purpose
Promote more fear and less courage
Tunnel Vision
Even the best name in news screws the facts to fit the quota
The trust is obtained because the alternative screen is either too
Right-
Or Left- winged
So the balance is chosen
While we have woven the fabric of dysfunction
Chasing dreams already proven deferred
Warnings heard are echoed and lessons get learned through self destruction
Tunnel Vision repeats the same scenes while the Neilson rating rises
The usual suspects are obvious when Black entertainment television is
Misguidance
Leading young minds to deny the power of the mind
Confining them to seek
Mine
Meaning theirs
Selfish eyes stare at cribs only their imaginations can fill
Tunnel Vision
They tell you the only way to ride is to drive a pimped out ride
when turning lemons to lemonade was the way we made it out alive
They tell you that through diamonds and chains is the only way you?ll shine
When the foundation of America was crafted by enlightened minds
Distort true history for the current wave of Black history
Like this country?s iniquity isn?t rooted deep in misery, secrecy, mystery.

When They Carve My Name In Stone
The only thing I've ever owned
no strings attached and no debt to pay
I held on to it with total control
The path I paved through countless days
sleepless nights, restless hours, and weary minutes
A story worth words unspoken and unscathed
in the name of liberation
They will carve my name in a stone made for me
yet I am not in a grave
my spirit flies
Remembrance floats so high
that it trickles down
to the many who won't ask why
They will simply accept the presence
of a soul manifested
in the form of a lesson and a blessing
Heavenly I will sit
promoting the gifts of the future
as I did in my present day life maneuvers
When they carve my name in stone
let it be known
Just incase they thought wrong while I was in the physical form.
